Know the Different colors of India


India is a land with diverse cultures and spirituality and philosophy. Major religions of India are Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism and Judaism. Indians live in peace and harmony with different religions and they express their brotherhood during all the festivals celebrated in India. 



Hinduism- This is the oldest religion in the world and the third largest religion after Islam and Christianity. Hinduism is the dominant and one of the most colourful religion in India. It consists of 84% of the total population.

Islam- Islam is one of the well-known religion and it consists of 12% percent population of India. Islam came into concern when the state of Sindh came into being. 

Christians- They are one of the prominent religions in India. The population of Christians in India are more of the population of the countries like Australian and New Zealand. 

Buddhism- Buddhism is one of the major religions in world. This religion came from the teachings of Lord Buddha. The fundamental principle of Buddhism is to follow the middle path.

Jainism- Jains are less than one percent that form the total population of India. They are mostly traders and merchants. Their preaching is based on Karma- and it effects the living soul and the soul’s release.

Sikhism- They form only two percent of the total population and in comparison with other religion they are much younger. Guru Nanak was the founder of this religion and was their first Guru.

Zoroastrians- They are very less in population and yet they are one of the important religions in India. The followers of Zoroastrians are known as Parsis. The life of Parsis revolves around the sacred fire.
